Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery
The Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery is a high-level, specialized and academic journal. It covers liver, biliary tract, pancreatic, and splenic surgery, portal hypertension, surgical nutrition, and other clinical and experimental studies. The principle for its publication is to promote academic exchanges and raise the level of hepatobiliary surgery in China through basing on basic researches, gearing to technical progresses and raising the level of academic exchange. It timely reports new advancements, new views, new achievements, new experience, new techniques, new approaches in the field of hepatobiliary surgery and R&D as well as application of new drugs and new instruments to address the needs of the high- and medium-ranked medical practicing, teaching, and researching stuff in domestic or foreign medical and pharmaceutical colleges, universities and hospitals. The journal also pays close attention to continuing medical education and training of qualified persons and new specialty advances each year. Its editorial board has organized a number of academic meetings on new techniques each year, which were lively and vigorous with numerous participants. Approved by the Chinese Medical Association, the editorial board of this journal includes 84 members from 23 provinces and municipalities, who are specialists with rich experience in diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary diseases and of great academic attainments. Besides, five well-known specialists from Hong Kong and Taiwan of China and USA are also invited to participate in editorial work. Recommended by specialists, 44 young and middle-aged scholars are invited as corresponding editors. By doing so, a large and strong team being in charge of reading and editing manuscripts is organized. In recent years, the journal gets favorable comments from broad readers for its substantial contents, high guidance quality in knowledge and methodology, great volume of information, high academic level as well as high-quality editing and format, and submission increases year after year. This journal has been appointed as a source journal for statistics of Chinese scientific and technical theses by the National Ministry of Science and Technology and a core journal for publication of scientific and technical theses in China by Beijing University Library since 1999. As a result, it is a carrier of high-level academic theses necessary for promotion of high academic ranks for medical professionals in China and an important source for the persons of the same occupation in foreign countries to know the status quo and developmental trend of liver, biliary, pancreatic and splenic surgery in our country.
As a high-level academic journal of specialty, the journal is intended for teachers, researchers, medical postgraduate students and undergraduate students in all medical and pharmaceutical colleges and universities in China. It also provides theory, practice experiences, important teaching materials for the surgeons taking continuing medical education. We will continuously perfect setting of columns and other contents to become a good friend of the readers by addressing their practical needs.
For publication, we adopt the policy of combining spontaneous contribution with invited articles for key topics. Meanwhile, the papers about important clinical studies and summarization of clinical experience from authors in hospitals of all level are published in the journal because the experience from the front line is very important.
Professor Liu Yongxiong, the editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery, is an experienced expert in hepatobiliary surgery known at home and abroad. He possesses sound knowledge and experience in liver, biliary, pancreatic and splenic surgery, especially in pathological and physiological changes, and prevention and treatment of complications of high-positioned obstructive lesions of biliary tract. Professor Gu Wanqing, the director of the editing board, is a promising young expert in the field of hepatobiliary surgery. They two, together with consultants and members of the editorial board, adhere to the principles of innovation, constant perfection, authenticity and high quality to select papers for publication. After preliminary screening, all manuscripts are subjected to first examination ? second examination and approval ? final examination and approval by collective discussion among specialists in a manuscript finalization seminar to decide important items including paper acceptance, paper modification by authors, setting of columns and paper refusal. The purpose of doing so is to ensure promotion of academic level and quality of the journal.
